The Hollins Group Search Process – Methodology

The Hollins Group coordinates all activities from the beginning phases of a search engagement through the placement of the successful candidate. The cornerstone of our business is our deep experience in identifying, assessing and recruiting executives and placing them into senior leadership roles. Our professional search services also include: position specification development; candidate review and selection; candidate referencing; creation and negotiation of employment offers; on-boarding and other after-hire activities.

  1. Needs Analysis

    At the beginning of each executive search assignment, we define the best possible research strategy and means of action. Then, we build our strategy to draw on a complement of resources to identify prospective candidates. Given the specialized nature of our search projects, we produce highly customized, comprehensive research for each client assignment. We conduct an intensive search (on local, regional and national levels, if appropriate) to generate candidates whose qualifications most closely match our clients’ requirements.

  2. Research

  3. Candidate Development

    At The Hollins Group, we truly understand and believe in the value of a diverse workforce and have perfected our search process to ensure that we present diverse slates of candidates to our clients. Based on our screening of candidates, we select the best individuals to interview. Throughout the process, candidates are informed of their status, the search timeline and applicable next steps.

  4. Progress Review (ongoing)

    We provide appropriate progress reports and communicate with clients based on their preference and timetable. These reviews include assessments of general findings, candidate interest and reaction to the position, and any other outstanding issues to be addressed.

  5. Interviews

    We formally present the best-qualified individuals for a position to our clients and recommend a slate of final candidates accompanied by our verbal and written rationale to our client. Usually, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders within our clients’ organization follow our initial interview and presentation.

  6. Referencing & On-boarding

    After conducting background and reference checks, we assist in negotiating the compensation and the terms of the employment offer to the selected candidate. We follow-up the process by monitoring the successful candidate’s performance. This process allows us to identify and resolve any outstanding issues, as well as ensure the success of the assignment for both our client and the successful candidate.
